If we want disruptive science, what type of teams should we fund?
To fund the kind of science that’s going to supplant current ideas, you have to have a taste for risk.
Why? Because the teams that disrupt science are small, non-networked and non-conformist. They don’t look like safe bets, and that’s the point.
